AB Checklists App – *NEW*
AB Checklists is a powerful, offline assessment companion designed specifically for AB Manager users. Built as a mobile-first application, it is optimized for real-world assessments—whether you’re working on a laptop, tablet, or phone, and whether you’re connected to the internet or completely offline.
AB Checklists allows assessors to download checklists directly from AB Manager and store them securely on their local device. Once downloaded, checklists are fully available for completion in the field—no connectivity required. When ready, completed checklists can be uploaded back to the corresponding assessment in AB Manager, ensuring a smooth transition from fieldwork to final review.
This workflow is ideal for on-site assessments where internet access may be limited, unreliable, or unavailable, while still maintaining a direct link to the authoritative assessment record in AB Manager.
Important Notes and Best Practices
- Data Synchronization:
When a checklist is uploaded back to AB Manager, it will overwrite the existing version of that checklist in the production database. Users should ensure they are uploading the most complete and current version. - Multiple Devices:
AB Checklists may be deployed on multiple devices simultaneously; however, individual deployments are not aware of each other. When multiple assessors are involved, care should be taken to avoid working on the same checklist for the same assessment at the same time. - Recommended Practice:
To minimize conflicts, it is best to focus on one or two assessments at a time per device and to delete checklists from local storage once they are no longer needed.

Setting Up Checklists in AB Manager
AB Checklists relies on checklists that are created and assigned within AB Manager. Checklist templates, questions, and requirements are managed centrally to ensure consistency across assessments.
Before using AB Checklists, checklists must be assigned to a specific assessment in AB Manager.
At a high level, the setup process is:
- Create or select checklist templates in AB Manager
- Assign one or more checklists to a specific assessment
- Ensure that each assessment has been assigned a template and the checklists have been ‘built. Use the multi-selector and action button to build checklists
Once checklists are built in the assessment, they become available for download in AB Checklists and can be stored locally on the user’s device for offline completion.
Note: Checklist configuration, editing, and reassignment are performed in AB Manager. AB Checklists is designed for checklist execution and field completion, not checklist design.
The AB Checklists Home Screen and “My Assessments”
When AB Checklists is opened, the user is presented with the Home Screen, which centers around the My Assessments view.
The My Assessments list displays:
- Assessments assigned to the logged-in user
- Key assessment details such as assessment name, laboratory, and status
- Indicators showing whether checklists have already been downloaded to the device
From this screen, users can:
- Search or filter assessments
- Select an assessment to view its associated checklists
- Download checklists for offline use
The Home Screen serves as the primary navigation hub for the application and is designed to provide quick access to active assessments in the field.
Adding New Assessments to AB Checklists
Assessments themselves are created in AB Manager, not in AB Checklists. However, newly assigned assessments become visible in AB Checklists once the user is authenticated and connected.
To add an assessment to your device:
- Connect the device to the internet
- Open AB Checklists and sign in
- Navigate to My Assessments
- Select the desired assessment
- Download one or more assigned checklists to local device storage
Once downloaded, the assessment and its checklists are available for offline use until they are uploaded or deleted.
Tip: It is good practice to download all required checklists for an assessment before traveling to a site with limited or no connectivity.
Completing Checklists Using AB Checklists
Downloaded checklists can be opened and completed directly within AB Checklists.
While completing a checklist, users can:
- Answer questions and mark compliance status
- Enter comments and observations
- Record findings and deficiencies as applicable
- Save progress at any time
Checklist responses are saved locally on the device, allowing work to continue uninterrupted in offline conditions.
Completed checklists remain on the device until they are uploaded back to AB Manager or deleted by the user.
Note: Progress is stored locally. Closing the app or losing connectivity will not affect completed or in-progress checklist data.
Synchronizing and Deleting Device Checklists
Synchronizing Checklists
When internet connectivity is available, completed checklists can be synchronized back to AB Manager.
To upload a checklist:
- Connect the device to the internet
- Open the assessment and select the completed checklist
- Choose Upload or Synchronize
When uploaded, the checklist responses are written back to the corresponding assessment in AB Manager.
Important: Uploading a checklist will overwrite the existing version of that checklist in AB Manager. Ensure that the uploaded checklist represents the most complete and final version.
Deleting Checklists from the Device
Checklists stored on the device can be deleted once they are no longer needed.
Deleting a checklist:
- Removes it from local device storage
- Does not delete the checklist or assessment in AB Manager
- Helps prevent confusion when working across multiple assessments
It is recommended to delete checklists from the device after they have been successfully uploaded to AB Manager.
